Many congratulations to Ethan Barrett & James French who have been chosen to perform with The Royal Ballet Company in their production of ‘Sleeping Beauty’. Ethan will play the part of the Kings Page & James the Queens Page!

Congratulations to Isobel Hyland who has been offered a place at Central School of Ballet within their Saturday associate school & to Ethan Barrett & Molly Mullins who have both successfully auditioned & been accepted as Junior Associates of The Royal Ballet School & begin classes in September 2011.

On Sunday 8th May 2011 many of our students took part in classes at the RAD headquarters. Many congratulations to Isobel Hyland who took part in the Ruth French class & was awarded the Musicality award.

Many congratulations to Ethan Barrett who took part in the South East Regional Dance Awards Final at the Royal Academy of Dance on Sunday 15th May 2011. Ethan was awarded runner up by adjudicators Lynn Wallis & Wayne Sleep.

Having successfully auditioned at the end of 2010 for this years London Children’s Ballet production, Molly Mullins has performed in Rumpelstiltskin at the Peacock Theatre London, April 2011.

In February 2011 James French was chosen to dance at The Royal Opera House in Christopher Wheeldon’s much anticipated adaptation of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. James played the part of a hedgehog in the Queen of Hearts Garden.

Throughout December 2010 & January 2011 Sophie Harlow performed as a mouse at the Royal Opera House in their production of Beatrix Potter.

Jordan Dodd, Katrina Guibarra & Tabitha Brown have all been auditioning for vocational schools throughout the term. Jordan has been offered places at GSA on their Performance Prep Academy Diploma, Redroofs, Millennium. Katrina has been offered places at Stella Mann, Arts Educational School, Tring, Performers College, Millennium & Bird College. Tabitha as been accepted at Millennium.

Workshops

At the end of March 2011 a group of our pupils took part in an exclusive workshop at Chipping Norton Theatre with Central School of Ballet’s third year student company, Ballet Central. This gave the pupils a great opportunity to learn repertoire from Swan Lake, watch company class and see the performance.

Performances

In April 2011 the school performed at the Rotary Concert held at The Corn Exchange, Witney alongside other local talent.

Following last years success we were invited back to provide an evening of Cabaret for The Old Boys Brigade Association's annual celebration, in March 2011. This was held at Witney Lakes and was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

In January 2011 a group of our pupils danced in Witney Dramatics Production of Sleeping Beauty.

Upcoming

We are holding our school show 'Stage & Screen' at Burford School on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th April 2012. Tickets can be purchased through the school.

In July 2011 we are holding our first summer school at the studio for our pupils. The week promises to be a lot of fun working alongside Simon Horrill (ex Royal Ballet dancer), Robbie O’Reilly (ex West End performer), Matthew Shaw (musical director) Sarah Bishop (co-founder of Biserk Dance Company) & Terry Powell (our much loved LAMDA teacher!).

In January 2012 we will be performing in Terry Powell’s production of ‘Babes in the Wood’ directed by Grace Wells, which we are looking forward to.

On Sunday 20th November 2011 we will be holding a choreography competition at the Corn Exchange, Witney.

Past News

Congratulations to Charlotte O’Brien who has been accepted at London Studio Centre and Hugo Brown to Central School of Ballet. Both Charlotte and Hugo will commence their full time vocational training from September 2010.

On Friday the 1st October 2010 our drama students were invited to an exclusive guided tour of the London Palladium as well as watching the evening performance of Sister Act. This was part of the 100th birthday celebrations for the theatre & we are extremely grateful to Terry Powell for organising this.

Congratulations to Sophie Harlow who has been successfully accepted into her second year starting September 2010 as a Junior Associate of the Royal Ballet School and to Danielle French who starts Saturday associate classes at Central School of Ballet.
